Bluebird Care Walsall have appointed a new Registered Manager - their very own Vicki Smith.

Vicki’s career in care began at Bluebird Care Walsall in 2018, after the completion of a degree in Social Care and Social Policy, and a Masters in Public Health. Joining as a Care and Support Supervisor, Vicki’s early career at Bluebird Care Walsall provided a platform for her success today.

She has prolonged experience in writing customer care plans, risk assessments and managing unique and sensitive customer files. In rising through the ranks, Vicki has become well equipped to take on each new role. By 2020, Vicki earned her first promotion to Care and Support Manager.

And in July 2021, Vicki passed her CQC interviews to officially become a Registered Manager of Bluebird Care Walsall. Vicki is now responsible for the day to day running of the Walsall office. Under her leadership, the home care provider will now work to achieving ‘Outstanding’ status under the CQC criteria.

To be rated ‘Outstanding’, Bluebird Care Walsall must be deemed a safe, caring, responsive, effective and a well-led business, with Vicki capturing each of those characteristics admirably.

Vicki Smith, in her new official role, said: “I am so fortunate to be leading a team here at Bluebird Care Walsall who are all equally so passionate about the care we provide for our customers. We all work towards the same goals: to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating by CQC and continue to grow our business to become the first-choice home care provider across Walsall.”

At the top of Vicki’s agenda is the recruitment of more Care Assistants, as well as adding a Live-in Care Manager and Recruitment manager to the Bluebird Care Walsall team. Those interested in a career in home care at the Bluebird Care Walsall office can take encouragement in knowing that they promote within and reward the successes of their own.
