Bournemouth has developed another first for their award winning seafront, with the launch of a new eco-friendly mini golf at the end of Boscombe Pier, with golf balls that feed the fish! This is the first eco-friendly mini golf at the end of a British Pier with a unique design specially manufactured in Germany for Bournemouth Seafront. The 18 hole course along the Pier uses ECOBIOBALL –the first ever ecological and biodegradable golf ball to contain fish food in its core. When the player gets to the last hole – the ball goes into the sea and feeds the fish.

Golf courses in America use the same idea when playing near to marine environments and cruise liners use them for their on board golf play.

Councillor Lawrence Williams, Cabinet Member for Tourism, Leisure and the Arts, said: “We're constantly looking to improve the seafront offer for our visitors and this is something that they can have fun with whilst also helping to improve the marine environment here at Boscombe Beach. I can't wait to have a go myself!"
