Volunteers are needed to help out this summer at Sandwell Arts Festival 2015. Organisers are looking for help for family-friendly community celebrations taking place on 15, 16 and 22August, in West Bromwich, as well as at other events across the borough.

Sandwell Council arts manager Garry Morris said: "It is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with the community, use your skills and have an exciting experience."

Councillor Syeda Khatun, cabinet member for leisure and the voluntary sector, said: "We're really looking forward to this summer's festival and encourage people to get involved to help make it as fantastic as possible. We're always hugely grateful to volunteers who give up their own time to help out."

Volunteers can apply for roles including:

  • Information assistants
  • Social media assistants
  • Stewards
  • Technical and set-up assistants
  • Artist liaison assistants
  • Blogging about the event

Volunteers will receive travel expenses, training in communication skills, references and a t-shirt to remember their experience.

Volunteers will need to send a CV, attend a short induction and work with a team leader to support the festival.
