Authors Kristina Hagström Ilievska and Gabriella Skog recently released their innovative children's book titled ‘Our Hidden Powers’ that teaches kids about renewable- and geothermal energy. The duo celebrated the book release with a grand event last weekend that attracted attendees from the industry, universities, politics, and environmental debates.

The Swedish translation of the book, ‘Våra hemliga krafter,’ premiered at the event, adding to the excitement and anticipation of the gathering of over 70 attendees at publisher Mondial’s office in Stockholm, Sweden.

Under the theme “children’s party” and finding your own hidden powers - a diverse array of activities was organized to entertain children, including face painting, a candy table, a painting corner, and reading of the book. The adults were served alcohol-free champagne and organic pastries by the sustainable baker Sébastien Boudet.

The event also featured Pa Modou Badjie from Panteoz, who allowed children to take the stage and try their hand at DJing, singing and dancing. While the children enjoyed their time, they were also educated on renewable energy, sustainability, and the importance of collaboration.

One of the participating children remarked: "This is exactly how I want my birthday party." The event received tremendous feedback from both children and parents. "It's fantastic to do something so educational and fun at the same time," said an accompanying parent.

Kristina Hagström Ilievska, author and CMO of Baseload Capital, remarked, "The message of the book is that everyone has a strength and a hidden power, and when we find and learn about our own power, we can use it to make the world a better place." Gabriella Skog, author and Geologist at Baseload Capital, echoed this sentiment, "It's been so much fun to see such a great interest in the book. It's about collaborating for a better world, and this is where we start - with our youngest."

Aurore Belfrage, geopolitical advisor and tech investor praised the book and said: "Our Hidden Powers is a brilliant book that with heart and elegance inspires children and their reading parents to learn about how to power our earth in a sustainable way. The book has a genuinely engaging storyline and encourages reflection and action. Me and my daughter were mesmerized."

With engaging characters and thrilling escapades, this book inspires children to tap into their own hidden powers and contribute to a better world. The book has already sold over 8,000 copies and is available to order in both Swedish and English on Bokus, Adlibris, and Amazon.

The authors shared their thoughts on the book and how to talk to children about climate change on Sveriges Radio P4, Stockholm on May 8, which can be accessed on the link provided. The authors will also participate in the upcoming Almedalen Week on Gotland, Sweden, at the end of June.
