A free event taking place next weekend will promote good health and wellbeing among women and also celebrate their everyday accomplishments and achievements. The inaugural Everywoman festival, taking place at Bantock Park, on Saturday 10 September, has been organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council, partner agencies and community groups.

Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: "The Everywoman event aims to raise the profile of women's health by both promoting good health and giving them opportunities to improve their health and wellbeing. We'll also be celebrating the accomplishments of women over the years, as well as reflecting on their struggles."

Visitors will be able to hear from guest speakers including Dr Heidi Kerr, a specialist in women's health who will discuss the menopause and hormone replacement therapy, and Health Inequalities Specialist Jayne Burness, who will be sharing information about breast, cervical and bowel screening.

Recovery Near You will provide information about services for people suffering from drug and alcohol misuse, Aspiring Futures will share resources about mental health, education and reducing isolation, while The Haven will highlight support services for women and girls at risk of domestic violence.

Representatives from The She Project Wolverhampton will be on hand to share information and products relating to period poverty and selfcare. Visitors will also be able to take part in yoga, meditation and Bhangra exercise sessions, enjoy performances from singer Brogan Tween and even get their Covid-19 vaccination, with a pop-up clinic offering first, second and booster vaccinations to anyone aged 18 and over available from 10am to 4pm.
