Cockshut Hill School, part of the Summit Learning Trust, wants to shine a spotlight on a unique and treasured space at the heart of the school, the Kevin Turner Suite.
This special area serves as a living archive, preserving decades of school history dating back to the Second World War and offering a fascinating glimpse into generations of student life. Inside the Kevin Turner Suite, visitors will find an extraordinary collection of memorabilia, including old photographs, newspaper clippings, attendance registers, and even examples of historic school uniforms.
Together, these items tell the rich and evolving story of the school and the community it serves. As part of this celebration of heritage, the school is now reaching out to former attendees. Many of the photographs and records capture moments in time, but the stories behind them are still waiting to be told.
Cockshut Hill would love to hear from past attendees who spot themselves, their friends, or family members in the collection. The school is keen to reconnect with its alumni and learn more about the paths they have taken since their school days.
Whether you left recently or many decades ago, your story matters. By sharing your experiences, you can help inspire current learners and contribute to a growing celebration of the school’s legacy and future.
Jody Clarke, Principal at Cockshut Hill said: “We are incredibly proud of our history and the generations of young people who have passed through our doors.
“The Kevin Turner Suite is a powerful reminder of where we have come from, and we are excited to reconnect with our former attendees to celebrate where they have gone on to.” Alumni and members of the local community are warmly invited to get in touch, share memories, and help bring the archive to life.
