After school plays, sports days and everything in between, the summer is a great opportunity for both children and their teachers to get some well-earned rest. Unfortunately though, the Great British sunshine can be elusive at best – what happens when rest turns into restlessness?

Luckily, local artisan chocolatier Davenport's Chocolates is holding a batch of chocolate-making workshops in late July. They're perfect for any wannabe cake decorators, mini Gordon Ramsays and those with an artistic inclination; learn to make chocolate spiders, caterpillars, butterflies and more, as well as teaching mums and dads to create moulding paste so that the fun can be continued at home.

Bridget Hamilton, Sales and Marketing Coordinator, always loves welcoming workshop participants to the factory – especially the young ones. 'Last year the courses were really successful, so I'm glad we're bringing them back this summer! It's great to see the chocolate production process with fresh eyes; within minutes, pupils are just as excited about making good chocolate as we always are. And there's plenty of tasting to be done, of course. How could anyone resist?'

Workshops are running between 27th and 31st July. For the full line up, visit http://www.davenportschocolates.co.uk/ourstudio_toursevents.asp
