To commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, Trinity Leeds will host a day of activities in collaboration with the University of Leeds, celebrating the life and work of the national icon. There will be boards in the centre which visitors can record their favourite Shakespeare quotes and plays, which will be live-tweeted throughout the day, giving a snapshot of what the bard means to the city. At intervals throughout the day, there will also be performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream in the centre's main atrium from the university's drama group, Stage@Leeds.

Visitors are also encouraged to add illustration to a giant artwork throughout the day, which will culminate in a colourful portrait of the literary figure. Following the event, the artwork will be displayed at a Shakespeare exhibition, Treasures of the Brotherton Gallery, running from September 2016 to June 2017 at the University of Leeds.
