Singing sensation Mabel blew London commuters away in Piccadilly Circus yesterday morning with a surprise performance of her Christmas single, a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time.

She took to the famous busking spot as part of McDonald’s Reindeer Ready campaign, to the delight of passers-by who formed a crowd to take in the special performance.

Mabel surprised three McDonald’s crew members who were busking the hit single against the backdrop of the Eros Statue, stunning commuters and tourists with the surprise appearance.

The set was stripped back to a gorgeous keyboard melody to continue McDonald’s #ReindeerReady celebrations, aiming to get everyone in early festive spirits. The iconic 80’s track ‘Time After Time’ features in McDonald’s Christmas advert ‘Imaginary Iggy’ that perfectly evokes the theme of never being too old to make believe.

Mabel will be donating 10p from every download of her new Christmas single to food charity, FareShare. McDonald’s will also be donating funding to enable FareShare to redistribute five million meals to families most in need this Christmas.
