Storywalks in the woods, campfire tales and family storytelling all day  are all on the programme for the fifth Martineau Gardens Storytelling Festival.  Community Garden Martineau Gardens and the Traditional Arts Team have joined forces to create the Martineau Gardens Storytelling Festival, a family friendly day of storytelling plus arts, music, crafts and dance taking place on Saturday 25 June, 11am – 7pm.

National Youth Dance Company (NYDC), the country’s flagship organisation for young dancers, performs a new creation by the company’s Guest Artistic Director Michael Keegan-Dolan, an Associate Artist of Sadler’s Wells Theatre.The work entitled In – Nocentes will be performed at Mac, Birmingham, on Saturday 23 July. Now in its fourth year, NYDC has established a reputation for innovative, challenging and influential work, and producing open-minded, curious and brave dancers.

A Walsall College Lecturer and highly acclaimed author signed copies of her latest novel at a book store in Walsall this week. Supported Learning Performing Arts tutor, Tanya Lewis, who writes under her maiden name Tanya Bullock, made an appearance at Waterstone’s in Walsall on Friday 3rd June, to sign copies of latest and second novel, ‘Homecoming’. The story follows an elderly couple with dementia who fall in love during their stay in a care home.

Taken aback travellers were faced with an unexpected swarm of shuffling zombies as tons of ‘walking dead’ boarded the new tram routes across the city to join them on their daily journey to work. The horde of terrifying zombies ‘rose from the dead’ to accompany thousands of confused Midland Metro commuters in anticipation of the eighth annual Birmingham Zombie Walk, taking place on Saturday 18 June.

The countdown is on to the Blenheim Palace Flower Show 2016 which will be officially opened by award-winning actor Sir Ian Mckellen on Friday, June 17th. Sir Ian's appearance is just one of the highlights of this year's show being staged from June 17-19 in the stunning grounds of the magnificent country house which is home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough.

Dancers around Britain are being urged to showcase their talents in a national competition, which welcomes all styles of dance, as it celebrates the UKs most diverse dance talents.  Launched by a former heart patient, the UK Dance Elite Championship, will raise money for national charity, Heart Research UK, as well as offering the overall winner a life-changing prize. This consists of £5,000 prize money, a dancing scholarship which includes masterclasses and agency showcases in Hollywood, California.

The 2016 Ibiza season is officially underway, with the spectacular Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel kicking off proceedings. Leading Coldplay and Take That tribute bands will be headlining the new Thorpefest, summer outdoor music festival at the Thorpeness Country Club, near Aldeburgh on Suffolk's Heritage Coast on Saturday, 2nd July. Featuring nearly a dozen bands and artists performing live from 12noon until 10pm (gates open from 11am), the open air charity concert will replace the popular Music by the Sea event, which has been held outside the White Lion Hotel on Aldeburgh's sea front since 2012.

Stars of new movie, Warcraft, have officially opened one of Madame Tussauds' most epic experiences yet Warcraft – The Madame Tussauds Experience, a new touring attraction that will remain in London until 31 August. Developed in close collaboration with Legendary Pictures and WETA Workshop, the experience brings to life characters in impressive sets recreating the elegant Kingdom of Stormwind and the harsh, unrelenting landscapes of Azeroth, both of which feature prominently in Duncan Jones' new movie.
