Warwick Arts Centre, Warwick Sport and Warwick Retail are set to welcome hundreds of families to their next Family Day on Sun 31 May 10am-5pm at the University of Warwick . Designed around the theme of ‘discovery’, Family Day aims to turn children into little explorers, inventors and artists with a day of mind-boggling fun and free activities for the whole family.

There’s the chance to meet the characters who travelled around the world in 80 days or zoom off in the incredible storytelling Submercycle , whilst a galaxy of crazy workshops awaits. Create a new planet in a craft session, or even a whole  constellation of colourful blobs with action painting. The friendly secret agents from the Union of Human Pollinators will teach the secret waggle-dance of the bees, and there’ll be plenty of clowning around in acrobat workshops and performances. Warwick Sport will be daring brave expeditions to take on the giant Dragon Inflatable Assault Course, as well as other activities like mini tennis, swimming and climbing.

Hungry adventurers can enjoy plenty of food and drink from Warwick Retail in the Café Bar as well as special themed meals in the Le Gusta restaurant. There’ll also be live music and performances throughout the day. Tickets can be booked now for the special live shows and cinema screenings happening on the day at Warwick Arts Centre. Stunning effects, madcap action and original music bring zany best-selling children’s book Aliens Love Underpants to life, whilst Along the
Riverbank is a fantastic retelling of Wind in the Willows with live music and puppetry.

The Boy Who Bit Picasso tells the true story of a young boy who became friends with one of the greatest artists who ever lived, and gets the audience involved in making their own crazy pictures. Paddington is also showing in the cinema, a beautiful and hilarious live action take on the beloved children’s classic. Celebrate the start of summer at Family Day this Bank Holiday weekend.
