City of Wolverhampton Council housing officers will feature in the new series of BBC One daytime show, The Housing Enforcers. Everyone’s house should be fit to call a home, but for many that is far from reality. This new series of 20 45-minute episodes over four weeks will see consumer champion Matt Allwright teaming up with Britain’s housing officers to help tenants in need. The series, produced by Twofour, begins on Monday, January 25, with Wolverhampton first featuring in the third episode on January 27, both at 9.15am.

Councillor Peter Bilson, Cabinet Member for City Assets, said: “We are incredibly proud of the work our housing officers do.

“This show demonstrates just how difficult their jobs can be and how professional they are in dealing with the hurdles they face in ensuring housing standards are maintained across the board.

“As a council we have a wide package of housing measures in place aimed at improving standards across Wolverhampton and The Housing Enforcers programme illustrates some of these being put into action.”

Matt works shoulder to shoulder with colleagues old and new. His task will take him around Britain searching out bad landlords, tackling problem properties, dealing with the consequences of nightmare neighbours and coming to the rescue of tenants in need.
