Endurance athlete and adventurer, Laura Kennington, will circumnavigate three of the Channel Islands in June 2016 in her own 'Channel Islands Triathlon', supported by VisitGuernsey. The 29 year old British athlete will swim around Sark, kayak around Guernsey and cycle around Jersey over three days in a challenge that has never previously been attempted. In completing this feat, Laura aims to inspire and encourage others to take on their own adventures, as well as to showcase Guernsey as a leading adventure sports destination, alongside the beauty and diversity of the Islands' coastal landscape.

Laura's toughest challenge to date will begin on 11 June with the five mile swim around the island of Sark, located just off Guernsey's east coast. With the Channel Islands home to one of the biggest tidal ranges in the world and water temperatures in June expected to be around 12 degrees, Laura is planning her endeavours carefully with strong support from the experienced local open water community of Guernsey and Sark.

After circumnavigating Sark, Laura will kayak 28 miles non-stop around Guernsey, the second largest of the Channel Islands, on 12 June followed by a 45 mile cycle around Jersey on 13 June.

In preparation for her own 'Channel Islands Triathlon', Laura has been following a gruelling fitness regime including weight training and endurance based swimming sessions. As a proud supporter of SportEngland's 'This Girl Can' campaign, Laura hopes that her training and challenge will empower women and motivate more to get active.
