Frustrated by a lack of communication in Sandwell, mumpreneur Claire Newbold is launching an ambitious new website called ‘Link Me Local’ to support local residents, charities and businesses. The site is now live and act as a community hub for all Sandwell, offering free promotion for charities, fundraisers and groups.

The innovative Link Me Local website comes hot on the heels of Claire’s popular Link Me Local Facebook page and Twitter account. Sandwell residents will now be able to visit the site and sign up for a free e-newsletter featuring community news. They will also be able to interact and write reviews about services, places and products in Sandwell.

Claire’s vision is for her website concept to go national and become a franchise in the future. In the meantime, Link Me Local will promote charity fundraisers, local events, clubs, classes, competitions, ‘what’s on’ and places to visit in the Sandwell area. There will also be a business directory to get residents to ‘buy local and support local’.

Claire says: “My life, like many others, is busy with a structured routine. I only get to find out what's going on in the local community by newspapers or through my son’s school. So I started a Facebook page and Twitter account to promote what is going on in the area. I did this because Sandwell is a growing community, with so much to do and be involved with. Link Me Local is an opportunity for people in Sandwell to be a part of something and keep in the loop about what’s going on.”

Bhupinder Sidhu, who works locally at the Tesco Extra in West Bromwich fully, supports Link Me Local. Being a family man who resides in Sandwell says, ‘Link Me Local, is a fabulous ,Interesting and informative, website where you can find out what events are being arranged by local groups, clubs and organisations who are all based in Sandwell. As the Community Champion for Tesco West Bromwich it is important we offer as much support as possible to these service providers to enable them to deliver these local projects for the benefit of our community’.

Sandwell businesses will also be able to get involved in this exciting community project.
