What better way to get through the last few weeks of a wet spring than planning a bank holiday or summer escape to the sun. With sun, sea and sand, excellent sightseeing opportunities plus activities ranging from tennis to golf, cooking to pampering spa holidays there is plenty to keep the whole family occupied, whichever resort they choose.

Aldemar Resorts has started to open their luxury hotels in Crete, Rhodes and West Peloponnese this month for the summer season and with early booking discounts of up to 15% there is no better time to book your 2016 holiday.

·         The 5-star Knossos Royal on the island of Crete is the first to open on 10th April, followed by the 5-star Royal Mare on 22nd April and the Cretan Village.

·         The two hotels on the West Peloponnese, the 5-star Royal Olympian and five star Olympian Village will open on 25th April.

·         The two superior all-inclusive resorts on the island of Rhodes, the Amilia Mare and the Paradise Village will also open on 17 and 25 April respectively.

New for summer 2016 across all resorts is a 'Greek street food' concept which let guests grab something nutritious and freshly cooked on the go, without having to sit down in a restaurant. Food offerings include souvlakia, tzatziki, chips made with organic potatoes, fresh Greek salad, fresh fruit and yogurt.

Aldemar Resorts' Cretan Village is located on the golden beach of Anissaras and has two-story traditional style white-washed houses. It's geared up for the whole family with plenty of activities including water sports, mini-golf, children's club and varied entertainment programme.

Families may also consider the Olympian Village located in Skafidia on the west coast of the Peloponnese, close to Ancient Olympia where the Olympic torch for this year's Rio Olympics will be lit on  the 21st of April.

This great resort hotel sits on a sandy beach that stretches for 5 kms with perfect views across the sea to both Zante and Kefalonia. Stylish accommodation is complemented by a variety of restaurants and bars, plus there are plenty of sports on and off the water with daily programme of activities for adults and children alike.
