Midlands businesses will have the chance to explore opportunities in the export market by taking part in trade visits to the United Arab Emirates and Mexico. A Midlands Engine group is travelling to Dubai on 29 January for a market visit to Arab Health. Led by experienced trade advisers, companies taking part in the visit will be able to pre-arrange meetings with commercial advisers and buyers, as well as taking part in other activities such as a networking reception and optional site visits.
In February, there is an opportunity to join a mission which will take in one of the leading events in Mexico for the automotive supply chain. Delegates will be able to hold one-to-one meetings with international buyers and decision makers, and meet experts with extensive intelligence. The International Business Convention for the Automotive Industry takes place between 20 and 24 February in Queretaro and Mexico City.
Mark Sankey, head of the Department for International Trade team at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “Joining an organised trade mission is an excellent way to explore opportunities in the export market, to familiarise yourself with a target market before you fully commit, meet potential customers, agents or distributors and to win new sales.
“It also pays dividends spending time in the market to experience the local business environment and culture and benefit from the experience of trade advisers leading the visits.”
