A BPP Professional Education accountancy student proved number one after a stunning exam result saw him crowned the best in his region! Felix Rodas-Cross scored an outstanding 92 per cent in the Strategic Business Management (SBM) advanced level exam paper which he took in July. His remarkable result proved to be the exam’s best grade in the Birmingham and West Midlands district.

That success led to Felix being invited to the ICAEW Chartered Accountants Birmingham and West Midlands annual dinner in October where he was presented with a certificate by ICAEW president, Hilary Lindsay. The 24-year-old from Solihull said: “I felt quite shocked. I thought I had passed but I didn’t expect that result. I was really pleased to get an award for it.

“My family were really pleased and very proud of me. They were happy that I had been invited specially to attend the dinner as a guest.” Keith Moule, Felix’s accountancy and tax tutor at BPP Professional Education in Birmingham, said: “This is a mightily impressive result for Felix in what is acknowledged to be a tough examination. SBM demands attention to detail as well as the ability to zoom out and see the big picture, at which skills Felix has proved he excels.

“These are the abilities in demand by employers in the workplace, and I wish him every success in his future career.”

Felix is studying at BPP Professional Education’ site in Colmore Circus, Birmingham, and has hopes of becoming a qualified chartered accountant.
