The Fostering for Wolverhampton team is excited to launch their January recruitment campaign to inspire more people to become foster parents.

The campaign kicks off on Monday (27 January 2025), at the Wulfrun Centre, where the team will have an information stall opposite Greggs from 10am to 4.30pm. They will also be there next Wednesday, 29 January, and Friday, 31 January, between the same times.

These are great opportunities for people to drop by, chat with the team, and learn more about fostering. Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: “Giving children and young people the best possible start in life is a top priority for the council.

“Becoming a foster parent for Wolverhampton is a life-changing experience, both for foster parents and for the children they care for. We’re incredibly proud of the over 200 fostering households in our city, but there are still more children who need a safe and loving home.

“If you have a spare room and love to give, we’d love to hear from you.” If you can’t attend the in-person events, the team is also hosting online information sessions on Tuesday 28 January and Thursday 30 January from 6.30-7.30pm.

These sessions are the perfect chance to learn about fostering, including the training, guidance, and financial support available. Councillor Coogan added: “Our team, along with experienced foster parents, will be available at these events to answer your questions and share their experiences.

“We’re here to guide and support you every step of the way.”
