Five of Jumeirah’s hotels and resorts across Europe have recently been awarded the internationally -renowned Green Globe certification, acknowledging the group’s continued commitment to sustainability.  The group’s properties in London, Frankfurt and Mallorca have all been awarded this accolade and Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel and Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living are the only hotels in London to have received this accreditation to date.

Green Globe certifies Jumeirah’s guarantee to conduct business in a responsible and transparent manner both socially and environmentally.

In addition to the recent Green Globe certification, Jumeirah Hotels&Resorts is recognized for its broad CSR programme which includes an extensive list of green initiatives. All properties use innovative technologies for energy and water reduction, operate a Sustainability Management Plan, and promote continued involvement and interaction with the local community, benefiting both guests and the environment.

Some examples of local green initiatives at the hotels include: Jumeirah Carlton Tower which offers guests the opportunity to use the hotel’s bikes to explore London; Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel&Spa in Mallorca, which prioritizes the use of native plants from the Soller Botanic Garden for the resort’s landscaping; and Jumeirah Frankfurt, which hosts 40,000 bees on its roof.

Green Globe is the premier worldwide sustainability certification for the tourism industry and more than 800 businesses in 50 countries have so far met the 380 compliance indicators. Green Globe certification is a structured assessment of the sustainability performance of travel and tourism businesses and their supply chain partners. All five hotels performed extremely well and achieved a minimum compliance score of 77% with Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel&Spa being awarded 83% against the Green Globe Standard for Sustainable Travel&Tourism- Jumeirah Port Soller is the only hotel in Mallorca to have received this award.
