Helpful Holidays has been shortlisted for Best UK Accommodation (group) at the Family Traveller Awards 2016. Acknowledging and congratulating the best of the best in family travel, the Family Traveller Awards is the only event of its kind, with 25 categories ranging from Best Long Haul Accommodation to Best Kid's Club and everything in between. Bigger and better than ever for 2016, nominations have increased from 2015's inaugural year with a further seven categories bringing the total number of awards to 25. Receiving overwhelming support from the industry with over 1600 nominations, the shortlist has been painstakingly whittled down by the Family Traveller team and is now open to scrutiny from an expert panel of judges, including editor of Family Traveller, Jane Anderson, TV and radio presenter and writer Mariella Frostrup, BBC's go-to travel documentary maker Simon Reeve; travel editor at The Times, Jane Knight, and Travel & Lifestyle Director of Elle, Sue Ward Davies.

The shortlist of nominations is now also open to the most important judge, the public, who can vote for their family travel favourites until 20 September to determine the winners of the Family Traveller Awards 2016.

Helpful Holidays, a family-owned business, has been letting the finest West Country holiday cottages since 1982. They now offer around 700 holiday homes across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset, ranging from cosy seaside cottages to huge houses for family gatherings of up to 47. All the cottages are inspected and personally known by the friendly team, who are always pleased to help match families with their perfect accommodation.

The shortlist is now available on the Family Traveller website, and a full list of winners will be announced in the November/December 2016 issue of the magazine with the ceremony taking place on 4 October.
