Holidaymakers can save almost 50 per cent on the price of a getaway to the paradise, Caribbean island of Anguilla by opting to travel in the summer or autumn, versus the high-season winter period.

The destination compared low, shoulder and high-season holiday prices from a range of UK tour operators and found savings of up to £2,800pp could be made by taking exactly the same holiday in June, August or October versus January or February. “Anguilla has a reputation for laid-back elegance and high-end accommodation, but visitors can enjoy that luxury for less, when they come during May – October,” says Stacey Liburd, Anguilla’s Director of Tourism.

“UK travellers are particularly well placed to take advantage of this because our low season coincides with several of the British school holiday periods, including May, July, August and October. September is traditionally our storm period, but visitors who come either side of that can enjoy an abundance of sunshine.

“Our research has shown that significant savings can be made by travelling in our low-season, despite the weather still being reliably sunny, the sea calm and conditions ideal for adventures on land and sea. May is an exciting month, packed with events including the Anguilla Culinary Experience, several boat races, Anguilla Day and the Welches Festival, a celebration of Anguilla culture.

“And late July to early August sees the island sizzle with Anguilla Summer Festival celebrations, from parades to parties, concerts and more boat races.” The research was conducted as part of the Anguilla Tourist Board’s Exclusively Yours, Anguilla campaign, which highlights a range of special summer 2024 accommodation offers, from the island’s luxury resorts, charming boutique hotels and incredible villas.

The greatest super saving was for a seven-night holiday to luxury resort, Zemi Beach House, with Turquoise Holidays (01494 678 400 / www.turquoiseholidays.co.uk) which, in October 2024, is priced £2,999pp, versus £5,799pp in January or February 2025. This represents a saving of 48 per cent (£2,800pp).

Similarly, a seven-night getaway to the grande dame resort of Anguilla, Malliouhana, with Turquoise Holidays, costs £6,199pp if travelling in January or February 2025, but only £3,499pp if going in August 2024, saving 44 per cent. Couples can enjoy an epic beachfront getaway for less at Carimar Beach Club with Tropic Breeze (01753 880880 / www.tropicbreeze.co.uk) from just £1,683pp for seven nights in October 2024, compared with £2,857pp in January 2025, saving 41 per cent.

Caribtours’ pricing for a seven-night stay in a Resort View Room and return flights starts from £4,549pp in October 2024, rising to £6,999pp in January 2025, representing a difference of £2,450pp (35 per cent). Families can even save on the high season prices when booking a private villa holiday to Anguilla during the school summer holidays or the October half-term break.

The cost of a seven-night holiday, staying at the sumptuous, five-bedroom “Main House” of Nevaeh Villa is 20 per cent lower in August 2024 than February 2025. The total price for a package with Inspiring Travel (01244 729525 / www.inspiringtravel.co.uk), including flights, in August 2024, is £51,990 based on a group or multi-gen family of 10 people (£5,199pp if 10 people travelling).

Nevaeh is staffed with a full-time villa team including butler, housekeeper, laundress and handyman, part-time pool attendant, gardener, and on-call property manager/concierge. Tucked away in the Eastern Caribbean, Anguilla is an inviting, intriguing and truly incomparable destination.

Renowned for its powder-white beaches, turquoise waters, culinary scene helmed by some of the Caribbean’s most talented chefs and outstanding accommodation, Anguilla lies refreshingly off the beaten path. Anguilla is accessible from the UK via British Airways or Virgin Atlantic on services to Antigua (ANU), followed by a short inter-island flight transfer to Anguilla (AXA) on a regional airline.

An alternative route is with Air France via Paris (CDG) to St Maarten (SXM), followed by a short boat transfer or flight. American Airlines also operates a service from Miami International Airport (MIA) into Anguilla, with connections to the UK available.
