After Manchester City won the much-anticipated Champions League final on Saturday and secured the treble, KingCasinoBonus.uk the online casinos comparison service, carried out research to find out which members of the winning team are the most influential on Instagram.

This research was done by analysing the number of followers each player has, how much each player can earn from a single sponsored Instagram post, and then looked at their engagement rate and average number of likes. Taking the top spot is Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, whose record-breaking goal scoring has gained him millions of followers in his first season at Manchester City.

Haaland can earn up to £85,500 per sponsored Instagram post due to his huge following of 31.1 million and an engagement rate of 5.31%. The Belgian midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne is the second most influential player in the Champions League final. De Bruyne has a huge a huge Instagram following of 22.5 million meaning he can make up to £66,600 per Instagram post. He has a slightly higher engagement rate of 5.84%.

The third most influential player is Manchester City and Argentina forward Julián Alvarez. With 12.4 million followers, Alvarez can earn up to £42,200 for a single Instagram post. He has a significantly higher engagement rate of 8.17%. Another Man City player on the list is Riyad Mahrez, who is fourth on the list. The Algerian winger has 11.3 million followers, can charge up to £39,400 for a sponsored Instagram post, and has one of the lowest engagement rates of 3.72%.

Despite being eighth on the list, Jack Grealish has the highest engagement rate of 8.7%. Grealish has a following of 7 million and can earn up to £27,300 per post. The player with the highest average likes per post is Erling Haaland, with a whopping 1.6 million likes. The player with the lowest average likes is Kyle Walker with an average of 128,800 likes per post.

The top 5 places are occupied by players who play in a forward, midfield or winger position. City’s first choice goalkeeper Ederson finishes ninth on the list. Commenting on these findings, Ionut Marin, CEO of KingCasinoBonus.uk has said: “The Champions League title is one of the most coveted trophies in football. Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and their consistent success over the past few years, now including their victory last Saturday, has meant an increasing popularity for its players on social media.

Haaland’s record breaking season has seen his social media following reach new heights. It will be interesting to see how Man City’s first Champions League title will effect the influence of each player on social media.”
