A start up language support business, CruxMate, has secured four-figure funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans under the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme to get the business up and running.

CruxMate – Language Support Services assists individuals facing difficulties in English by providing interpretation and translation services as well as professional phone support services in communication with government agencies such as HMRC, the Home Office and local councils.

It caters to people of all nationalities through its multilingual and user-friendly website and dedicated team of professionals.

Iwona Weclawska, the founder of CruxMate, is deeply passionate about helping people in need. During her career as an HR professional, she encountered many individuals who struggled with English, particularly when communicating with important organisations like HMRC or the Home Office. This experience made Iwona realise the high demand for language support for non-native English speakers in the UK and inspired her to make people’s lives easier through CruxMate.

The funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans is being used to develop a website that is accessible in multiple languages and user-friendly. Additionally, it is being used to purchase essential office equipment such as laptops, printers, mobile phones, and stationery.

First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans provides government-backed business loans ranging from £500 – £250,000 for start-ups and SMEs that are unable to borrow from traditional high-street lenders. The not-for-profit organisation reinvests profits into loan funds to further support economic growth and job creation in the local communities.

Iwona Weclawska, Founder of CruxMate – Language Support Services, said: “Choosing First Enterprise was an excellent decision for me! The process was quick and simple. My business advisor, Angie, provided constant support and guidance throughout. As a beginner, I received clear explanations and helpful examples through emails and calls, which made me feel supported and confident.

“The support provided by the knowledgeable team, who share my passion, was exceptional. I highly recommend First Enterprise to anyone who wants to turn their dreams into reality!”

Business Adviser at First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, Angie Krawczyk, comments: “It was a pleasure working with Iwona to help start her new business, CruxMate. Her passion, enthusiasm and positive spirit made the process simple and efficient for us both. I wish her all the best in her new business venture!”

Richard Bearman, Managing Director of Small Business Lending, British Business Bank added: “We are delighted that through First Enterprise we can support a business owner like Iwona set up her business and put her on the path to succeed by offering finance and mentoring along with her Start Up Loan.

“We are very keen to support business owners across the region and indeed from across all of the UK. We wish Iwona and CruxMate all the best as they help people in need.”
