Ligue 1 was responsible for affording the most playing time among the top five leagues to U20 players in the 2022-23 season.

According to the numbers presented by SafeBettingSites.com, U20 players played 7% of all playing time in the 22-23 Ligue 1 season. No other top-five league gave more than 4% of game time to U-20 players. 

In 2022-23, Ligue 1 was responsible for giving the biggest share of game time to U20 players among the top five leagues. As per the latest UEFA, U-20 players played 7% of game-time in France’s top tier of football.

In comparison, La Liga clubs only gave 4% of playing time to U-20 players. Premier League, Bundesliga, and Serie A could only afford 3% of game-time to youth players.

Ligue 1 also outperformed the other leagues when it comes to players aged between 20-23. Players aged between 20 and 23 got 29% of the total game time in the French league last season.

Premier League and Bundesliga gave 24% of game time to players aged between 20 and 23. Serie A and La Liga were further behind with 23% and 20% of game-time given, respectively.

Players aged between 24-29 played the biggest share of game time in all leagues. However, Serie A was responsible for giving the biggest share of time to players belonging to this age range at 56%.

The Premier League and Bundesliga were not far behind, with players aged 24-29 playing 53% of game time in both leagues. Ligue 1 was responsible for giving the lowest share of game-time to such players at 45%.

On the opposite spectrum, La Liga was responsible for giving the biggest chunk of game-time players aged 30 or more. Clubs in the top tier of Spanish football gave 30% of playing time to such players.

For all of the remaining four leagues, the share of game time given to players aged 30+ hovered between 19% and 20%. Thus, La Liga was the standout league when it came to giving time to players aged 30+.
