After 17 months of paused operations, Scenic has today resumed its luxury sailings on Portugal’s Douro River.

To celebrate the return, Scenic has released a series of new short films to showcase the exceptional guest experience, on board health and safety protocols and first-hand accounts of what guests can expect when sailing in Portugal with Scenic. Scenic will operate a combination of eight and 11-day round-trip sailings from Porto on board its spacious, boutique Scenic Azure Star-Ship.

 

The eight-day Delightful Douro river cruise takes in Regua, Vega de Terron, Pocinho and Pinhão, with prices starting from £2,545 per person departing 8 November 2021. Highlights of the itinerary include a visit to the iconic Mateus Palace (which graces the label of its famous namesake Rosé), a canoeing excursion on the Pinhão River and a spectacular private evening concert within the wondrous surroundings of São Francisco Church.

While the 11-day Unforgettable Douro river cruise has a gourmet focus, with guests enjoying a wine tasting at the fairytale Quinta da Aveleda, a renowned sparkling wine producer, in the famous Vino Verde region. Embark on a guided ‘Tastes of the Côa Valley’ tour and visit Casa Painova for a sweet almond workshop and a tasting of their almond, olive and fruit products. Uncover the beloved local bakery during a guided tour of the remarkable village of Provesende before a wine tasting at the restored manor house of Morgadio da Calçada. Prices for the 11-day sailing start from £3,745 per person departing 2 October 2021.
