A unique converted Wesleyan chapel in Camden Town will become London's newest boutique hotel when it opens on Friday 30th December. With a £9m investment and following a two-year period of construction, The Wesley is a brand new addition to the growing accommodation offering in one of the capital's up and coming neighbourhoods.
A unique mixed-use project, The Wesley has worked closely with its owner the Methodist Church and Manolo & White Architects to create a newly regenerated worship and community space for the church on the lower ground floor of the building, and 38 brand new boutique bedrooms over four further floors. The Wesley's Classic, Superior and Wesley Collection bedrooms have a modern, contemporary design by HLM interior design architects, which reflects the vibrancy of the Camden area and its bars, restaurants, shops and nightlife, including the world-famous Camden Lock Market.
The Wesley Camden Town, will be first UK sister property to The Wesley Euston, the 100-bedroom hotel and conference centre which is located in Euston Street near Euston station and was recognised as “the UK's first ethical hotel” some ten years ago. The Camden Town property will have the same high level of eco-credentials as its big sister at Euston and is expected to be a popular amenity within the local Camden community for visiting friends, relatives and business travellers.
Within a few minutes' walk from the hotel are a wide range of popular attractions and venues including Camden Lock Market, Regent's Canal, Koko and Roundhouse music venues, and also nearby are Regent's Park, London Zoo, the Jewish Museum London and Madame Tussauds. The hotel is expected to be popular with rail travellers from the north-west and midlands, and also with travellers using Eurostar out of St Pancras.
