- The workplace is evolving: 75% of hiring managers said the responsibilities for administrative professionals have increased with the shift to more remote business models, and 76% said the profession has more of a career-growth track compared to 5 years ago.
- Some top retention strategies managers have found effective in the last year are:
- Increasing compensation – 87%
- Letting employees choose their schedule – 81%
- Allowing employees to work remotely – 78%
- Increasing recognition efforts – 78%
- Accelerating promotions or job title changes – 77%
- Compensation is a main factor in retaining top talent: 51% of hiring managers said they have missed out on a promising administrative candidate because they didn’t offer enough pay.
- Workplace flexibility is key: 49% of administrative workers have no flexibility to work when or where they are most productive, and 33% want more flexibility by the end of 2023. Aside from salary, the #1 thing administrative candidates ask about during interviews is flexible schedule options.
