The hunt is on for musicians, bands, dancers and comedians to take to the stage in a one-day music show in the park at Sandwell’s Haden Hill House. Now in its seventh year the free event gives talented local performers the chance to get on stage and showcase their music to audiences who want to enjoy a festival vibe.

Organisers want to hear from musicians of all ages and abilities to help fill slots on the bill. Whether it is an indie, rock, folk, jazz or pop band or a singer with a guitar, a budding comedian or a dancer there are spaces in the line-up.

Festival-goers are encouraged take a picnic on the day where Friends of Haden Hill Estate will also be raising funds for Cancer Research UK and MacMillan Cancer Support with raffles and auctions.  The show starts at 12 and runs until 6pm

Councillor Syeda Khatun, cabinet member for leisure and the voluntary sector, said: “The music festival is always a great day. We’ve had some fabulous talent over the years and I'm sure some of them will go onto great things, for others it is a brilliant confidence booster and a chance to get up in front of an audience. We want to hear from you. On the day I hope lots of people will pack a picnic and come along and enjoy the entertainment.”
