Latin American Marketing and PR company Senderos was delighted and excited to say “we are B Corp certified!”

“Our little team couldn't be happier to be formalising our commitment to a global movement shaping business as a force for good. We announced the good news at a summer party held to mark 20 years of Senderos with partners Anakonda Amazon Cruises, Mountain Lodges of Peru, Estancia Los Potreros and many travel industry friends at London's ICA.

“Senderos is honoured that B Corp has approved our business as meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Certifying is only the start of our B Corp journey, as we know we still have much to learn and improve on in our journey of positive change.

The accreditation and Impact Assessment process has brought into clear focus many of the purpose-based values around Planet, People as well as Profit that Senderos has always held dear. We are especially pleased to be joining with Senderos partner B Corps Ibiti Project in Brazil and Las Balsas in Argentina in the supportive and creative international B Corp family.

Senderos Founder Simon Heyes says: “2024 marks 20 years in business for Senderos, and what better way to celebrate than by joining the B Corp Community.

“We are proud of being advocates for collaborative, positive change in the travel industry and hope to inspire others when making the case for the commercial viability of sustainable travel and conservation. To achieve B Corp certification, I've had to evaluate the whole way we value and run our business, striving to maximise positive impact.

“This has been a very inspiring process, we are proud but also energised and committed to doing better, to keep learning and always with passion and honesty telling the inspiring sustainability stories of our partners across Latin America.” Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, says: “We are delighted to welcome Senderos to the B Corp community.

“This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good. We know that Senderos is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward”.

The Impact Report process has highlighted that Senderos' key strength lies in being advocates, communicators and bridge builders in the area of planet positive travel. Our key stakeholders are our partners in Latin America, (high-end hotels, conservation lodges and expedition vessels) tour operators, press, DMCs, PR companies, tourist boards and travel associations and we will continue to advocate for sustainable change in this area.

Practical steps:

  • Senderos encourages all our partners to be certified by a GSTC recognised standard as an ultimate milestone.
  • Senderos strongly supports calls for an increase in ring fenced APD and frequent flyer tax - as well as the end of tax-free aviation fuel - as explained for example in Responsible Travel's Aviation Manifesto.
  • All Senderos travel is carbon balanced with World Land Trust, ECollective and Pinwheel.
  • Our website and presentations make clear and prioritise our sustainability focus.
  • Senderos commits to continuing to collaborate with partner organisations - such asThe Long Run- to assist wherever possible advances on properly measuring and quantifying the true value of our clients as important examples of carbon sinks and conservers of biodiversity.

B Corp, or B Corporation, certification recognises companies that meet a high standard of social and environmental performance.

The B stands for Benefit for all. This is a movement to change our economic system so that it positively impacts all stakeholders - workers, communities, customers, and our planet. It focuses on making all businesses, in all industries, a force for good.

Certified B Corporations are leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy. Having B Corp status identifies a company as meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices.

Senderos is joining a community of over 2,000 B Corps in the UK and 8,000 worldwide. Other travel UK industry B Corps include Pura Aventura, Joro, Swoop Travel, Steppes Travel, Audley Travel, Much Better Adventures, Journeys with Purpose, Intrepid, Explore and more.
