The holiday season is upon us, and it's time for cherished traditions, like snuggling up with a hot chocolate and watching our beloved Christmas films.

With over 70,000 searches for 'best Christmas Films' in the past month, showing a remarkable increase of over 20% in the last 7 days, it leaves us to wonder, which holiday classic makes us feel the most Christmassy? Interested in finding out, the experts at BestCasinoSites.net conducted an in-depth study based on festive elements, such as the number of Christmas trees, how many times Santa appears and kisses under the mistletoe, to assign each film a score to measure how festive they are.

BestCasinoSites.net were then able to crown the official most festive film of all time.

Key findings:

  • ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’, starring Jim Carrey, is crowned the most festive film of all time with a ‘Festive score of’ 584.
  • ‘Love Actually’ is third with a ‘Festive score’ of 406, scoring the highest for ‘Christmas Tree Appearances’.
  • Scoring the lowest ‘Festive score’ (97 points), the least festive film of all time is the 1954 musical ‘White Christmas’.

Starring Jim Carrey, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) is crowned the most festive film of all time with 586 points.

The film scored the most points (50) for Christmas Outfit Appearances and Present Appearances (66 points) out of all the considered films. The word "Santa" is said eleven times, adding 22 points to the scoreline, and the classic ‘Down the Chimney’ scene happened four times (adding 8 points).

However, the film doesn't score any points for appearances from Santa Claus. In second place was another adaptation of the classic kids book, Dr. Seuss' The Grinch (2018), scoring 484 points.

With an animated version of Mr. Grinch dubbed by Benedict Cumberbatch, the film got the highest points for Christmas Food Appearance (15 points), Carol Singer Appearance (4 points), Sleigh and/or Reindeer Appearance (14 points) and Down the Chimney (18 points). Considered a modern-day Christmas staple, Love Actually makes the top three with 406 points.

This festive flick scored the highest points (135) for Christmas Trees Appearance. But surprisingly, it gets zero points for Kisses Under Mistletoe. Scoring only 97 points, the least Christmassy film of all time is the musical White Christmas.
