Tenerife Tourism Corporation's #BigWarmHug campaign has exceeded all expectations in its first week of launch, reaching over two million people on Twitter, nearly 59,000 on Facebook and receiving more than 6,000 'likes' on Instagram in just seven days. The #BigWarmHug campaign was devised to demonstrate the people of Tenerife's love and appreciation for their European friends in the UK, regardless of whether or not the country remains in the EU.

Birmingham Muslims planning to travel to Saudi Arabia for the annual for the Hajj and Umrah have been urged to check the latest health advice before booking trips. The Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca is expected to fall between September 9-14 while Umrah can be undertaken at any time of the year. With the arrival of a number of new hotels in the past 12 months, Kyoto's hotel scene is set to unfold even further. Edinburgh Airport welcomed the first WOW air flight from Iceland yesterday. Travellers arriving from the Nordic nation, as well as North America were greeted at the arrival gate by a bagpipe player, providing an authentic Scottish musical welcome.  Flights will depart Edinburgh Airport for the airline's hub in Reykjavik twice-weekly between July and October on Sundays and Wednesdays, with a total flight time of 2 hours 30 minutes. Passengers travelling through will then have a short stopover before continuing on to one of the airline's North American destinations - Boston, Washington D.C., Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles, or San Francisco.
