Coaches, sports scientists, performance analysts and competitors, including former Olympians, are coming to Birmingham City University next month for an international summit on sports coaching. 

The University is hosting the Global Coaches House Birmingham 2022 Conference at its city centre campus from Tuesday 2 to Thursday 4 August – during the mid-point of the upcoming Commonwealth Games taking place in the city.

A Walsall cyclist who became the first to complete the famous Trans-Pennine Trail route in a hand powered cycle has been presented with a medal after raising more than £1,000 for charity.

Disability campaigner Andrew Moult, who has restricted mobility, took the challenge in a three-wheeled adapted hand cycle to raise funds for the charity Shine, which supports those with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.

The countdown is on for Wolverhampton families to see history made when the Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton Relay literally parachutes into the city in a spectacle not to be missed in less than 12 days’ time.

The Baton, which has already made an epic journey around all Commonwealth nations and territories, will parachute from the skies above East Park in Wolverhampton at 8am precisely on Sunday 24 July, 2022.
