Glastonbury-based business woman, Elisabeth Janaway is revolutionising the popular UK trend that is Festival based street food. Her recently started venture, the Kid's Café strives to fulfil children's catering needs not usually found at UK Festivals. Filling this gap with child friendly food at affordable prices, Kids Café is attending a plethora of exciting events this year, from small fetes and fairs to a couple of larger events, including the hotly anticipated St Ives Food and Drink Festival which will be spanning the weekend of May 16th – May 17th.

The 1950's caravan, decorated in pastel colours of baby blues and pinks, and dressed with bright bunting, is easily identifiable at Festivals. It offers the perfect environment for guests to sit under the umbrellas and take a seat with little ones to enjoy some deliciously accessible food. The food is comforting for children, in line with their home routines and comes in small, appropriately sized portions for their small appetites. For example, homemade tomato sauce and vegetables with pasta, Dairy Lea cheese triangle sandwiches and mini jacket potatoes. Also available are a range of gluten free and lactose friendly options. In terms of drinks, Kids Café offers a wide range of child friendly beverages including fresh fruit smoothies.

Elisabeth Janaway, Founder of Kids Café says, “We are so excited to be attending the amazing St Ives Food and Drink Festival this year as it is our first Festival. Being mobile means that we can work at such amazing places such as this; a Festival on a stunning beach. Next year, we plan on attending far more events across the UK and branching out. We want this trend to really take off. We're so passionate about our healthier food options for our very important little people. We're building a new generation of healthy Festival goers and helping create good and lasting habits.”

Elisabeth continues, “We make affordable, delicious and nutritious food that kids love and that they would have at home. The most popular items are our bespoke lunch bags which are very cool, retro recycled cardboard bags. These can be tailored to what the kids want, there are no set rules. If they want a cheese sandwich with a bunch of grapes and a yoghurt, then that's what they will have! Also, parents need not worry, any adult accompanied by a responsible child will also be catered for and we will be serving up coffees for them to sip whilst their ravenous brood feed!”

St Ives Food and Drink Festival, now in its sixth year, has a scorching line-up of top local chefs and traders serving a variety of food and drink options. Showcasing the gourmet delights that the Cornish region has to offer, the leading chefs from local pubs, restaurants and hotels will be heating things up with an array of entertaining food demonstrations throughout the two day event. Other exciting traders include Harry Bartlett of Cornish company, At Home Trailer, who has recently been involved in a Festival in the Midlands to introduce landlocked towns and cities in to eating more fish. Harry will be serving his signature menu at the Festival, including his hybrid Mexican seafood speciality of Lobster and fish tacos. He is looking to get such Mexican seafood into weddings as of 2016.
