Research from home improvements experts Synseal reveals Brits are feeling the squeeze when it comes to entertaining friends and family this summer. In a survey of 2,000 homeowners, four out of 10 said they didn’t have enough space for welcoming guests. Nearly a quarter said they planned to extend in the next five years with an orangery or conservatory, with a similar number opting for a brick built extension.
Just over 40 per cent said they considered a home extension to be a sign they were doing well in life. For many home owners, an orangery is the perfect choice to create valuable extra space that can be used all year round.
The orangery concept dates back several centuries but today’s structures benefit from high tech design features making them a perfect solution for 21st century living. High performing Celsius glass, which is available exclusively from orangery suppliers Synseal, provides superior thermal protection ensuring the temperature is not affected by the changing seasons.
Typically installed with solid brick pillars for a traditional look or structural aluminium posts for a slimline and modern visual effect, Synseal’s orangeries can be quickly installed to keep disruption to an absolute minimum and feature a signature decorative fascia on the outside and a perimeter ceiling on the inside. With a glazed lantern roof above, all the models in the Orangery Collection use the very latest building materials and modern construction techniques to provide a well balanced mix of style and design for living.
Mark Schlotel, Head of Marketing for Synseal, comments: “Synseal provide a range of attractive Orangery designs to complement any property. An elegant extension with light flooding down from the roof and through tall glass windows will create a refined addition to any home. Whether traditional or contemporary our Orangeries bring a new dimension to quality of life for families seeking some welcome additional living space.”
