A care home in Birmingham has celebrated its milestone birthday in style.
It was party time at Care UK’s Edgbaston Manor, on Speedwell Road, as residents, relatives and team members came together to celebrate the home’s 10th birthday – as well as to honour a decade of caring from the home’s team members. Visitors were treated to entertainment and activities, including musical performances from Ozy, a remembrance service for the residents, and an array of food specially prepared by the home’s talented Head Chef.
Zoe Steventon, General Manager at Edgbaston Manor, said: “10 years is a great achievement, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate this milestone, surrounded by residents, staff, family and friends.
“The last decade has been amazing, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of everyone along the way. I’d like to say a huge thank you to the team who worked incredibly hard to organise this event - the birthday party was a great success and an opportunity to celebrate them and their dedication to Edgbaston Manor over the years.
“It was wonderful to see the residents celebrate with us today and reflect on such a significant milestone and the memories we have built here. It’s been a fun-filled 10 years, over which time we have welcomed so many residents into the home and built many meaningful relationships within the local community - Here’s to the next 10 years!”
Edgbaston Manor has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence. The home provides full time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care; and it has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
There is also plenty of space, both indoors and out, for relaxation and recreation.
