Sandwell Council leader Councillor Steve Eling visited the Oldbury Delivery Office to thank local postmen and women for their hard work during Royal Mail’s busiest period. This year, Royal Mail has been celebrating its 500th anniversary, with this festive period marking half a millennium of delivering Christmas cards and parcels. Councillor Eling, together with Councillor Paul Moore, the council's cabinet member for regeneration, toured the office.

Councillor Eling said: “It was fascinating to see first-hand the hard work being done to sort and deliver mail in our area over the Christmas period.

“It was extremely busy and we thanked everyone for all they're doing to make sure Christmas cards and presents are delivered to loved ones on time, and for their efforts all year round.”
