The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic hosted "Taste the Paradise," an immersive culinary event at Hall des Lumières in New York.
Over 250 travel professionals and tourism allies attended the exclusive dinner, featuring a four-course menu crafted by renowned chef Saverio Stassi from Santo Domingo's Ajualä restaurant. The event offered a sensory tour of Dominican cuisine with standout dishes like cassava with traditional cheese, shortrib with sweet potato puree, and a creative corn-based dessert.
Guests also enjoyed cocktails, Dominican rum, and La Aurora cigars. David Collado, Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, emphasized the event's role in bridging cultures through food.
With New York being a key market for Dominican tourism—13% of visitors in 2023 came from the state and an 8% increase in early 2024—this event highlighted the deep connection between the two regions.
