The PNP (People's National Party) in Jamaica have said that its former president and Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller, is recovering well after she was rushed to a Corporate Area hospital on the Caribbean Island nation.

The PNP said that the former PM (77) was admitted for non-emergency care, adding that she is being supported by a capable medical team and her loved-ones. The party went on to express their thanks to the public for their prayers and well wishes, adding that it was praying for her good health and speedy recovery.
