Primary school pupils in Haringey have achieved an outstanding set of Key Stage 2 results.

Figures from the Department for Education (DfE) show an average of 70% of Year 6 children in the borough met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths - 8% above the national average of 62% and on a par with London. Hitting the London average is a significant milestone for Haringey, reflecting years of investment in teaching quality, targeted support and community engagement.

Councillor Zena Brabazon, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families at Haringey Council, said: “Haringey’s schools are giving our children and young people the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to flourish.

“By providing the right support and resources, we’re ensuring every child has the best possible start in life. This steady rise in results proves that with dedication and collaboration, our pupils can achieve at the very highest levels.

“A huge well done to all our students who took their exams. We are immensely proud of this fantastic achievement, and I want to thank every teacher, parent, and member of our community who has played a part in making it happen.”

The report also tracks progress since 2019, revealing striking improvements in several areas. Haringey, alongside Hammersmith and Luton, secured joint third place with a +4 rise - a notable achievement against a national backdrop of decline (-3).
