The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) were delighted to showcase the best of Asia's World City to over 45 high performing Travel Counsellors, as part of their annual Gold Weekend this month. Travel Counsellors is a leading independent travel company operating in seven markets with over 1,500 experts across the globe.  At their annual conference last November, it was announced that Travel Counsellors who had reached 'Gold' status (commissions of £83,000+) would celebrate their achievement in this vibrant city from 13th – 16th May.

Travel Counsellors from the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands and Australia, along with some of their valued partners Royal Caribbean, P&O and Cunard and Celebrity Cruises, participated in the weekend expertly organised by HKTB and supported by Cathay Pacific.

During the three-night stay at Cordis Hong Kong, the Travel Counsellors visited top attractions such as The Peak and the Dragon's Back trail, as well as exploring the vibrant districts of Sheung Wan and Mong Kok.  A highlight was the new Explore Hong Kong tours, such as the Mt. Davis Military History Tour, allowing visitors to experience and learn more about Hong Kong's past.

Dawn Page, Director, UK and Northern Europe, Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) said: “Known as a city that never stops - Hong Kong was the perfect place to celebrate the achievements of the Gold Travel Counsellors. We are thrilled to have partnered with Travel Counsellors and to have had the opportunity to showcase the different sides to Hong Kong.  We look forward to welcoming them back and entertaining their customers in the future.”

Gold Travel Counsellor, Heidi Kemsley, said: “Having experienced Hong Kong first-hand, I'm now able to take that invaluable knowledge home and provide my customers with expert advice, creating more authentic, unique itineraries that my customers would struggle to find anywhere else.  The Hong Kong Tourism Board were fantastic and demonstrated the complex personality of the city - there really is something for everyone from the breath-taking views from Victoria Peak to taking a trip back in time to old Hong Kong on the Explore Hong Kong Tours”.
