What would it be like to immerse yourself in a forest surrounded by a kaleidoscopic array of sights, smells and tastes all from the comfort of your own home? Professional actors, dancers, athletes and musicians from Spectra will bring the woods indoors as part of a series of multi-sensory, immersive digital shows set to take place on Friday 20th January at 1:30 pm and 7 pm plus Saturday 21st January at 11 am and 5:30 pm.

Filmed in part at Moseley Bog with a live element on performance days, the talented team of neurodiverse and disabled performers have together created a unique production where spectators are asked to join them in the woods, but not as it’s usually experienced.

“It’s an immersive adventure from the comfort of your own home,” explains Spectra director Kate DeRight. “Woods for the Trees brings expressive performances and originally composed music together with a gifted sensory box in order to transport audiences to a winter wonderland of childhood memory. Audiences will join us as we soar through the treetops, smell newly fallen leaves and experience an evocative winter landscape through a new and totally inspired lens.

“Expect colour, creative energy and a sensory bouquet. Whether you’re a seasoned forest moocher or are unable to experience this environment first-hand, these digital performances will bring to life the pure pleasure of a winter walk with a little bit of Spectra mischief thrown in for good measure.” Early booking is essential to ensure that the sensory box arrives in time for the performance.
