City of Wolverhampton Council is urging people to nominate voluntary organisations for The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) 2023. A QAVS is the highest award that can be presented to a voluntary group in the UK.

Introduced by Her Majesty the Queen to mark her Golden Jubilee 2002, a QAVS is considered to be the equivalent of the MBE for volunteer groups and is awarded for life. 

From Boxing for England several times at an international level, to signing sponsorship deals with Everlast, Sports Direct and MTK Global and winning his first professional fight earlier this year, Bilal Fawaz is still battling to legalise his status with the UK Home Office.

Having first announced its ambition in 2019, the Midlands’ airport remains steadfast in achieving its 2033 target. Its roadmap prioritises zero-carbon airport operations while minimising the use of carbon offsets.
