The 2015 World Tourism Award will be presented to the TreadRight Foundation, Tusk Trust, and Wildscreen on November 2, the opening day of World Travel Market, ExCel Centre, London. The annual award ceremony is sponsored by Corinthia Hotels, The New York Times, United Airlines, and Reed Travel Exhibitions.

Indonesia is currently on track of achieving the 10 million tourists mark for the year 2015. This comes despite a temporary setback that occurred when airports across Java and Bali were closed down due to volcanic ash. The latest data shows that at least 850,000 tourists entered the country in August. According to the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency, this is an improvement of 2.87 percent compared to last year's figure, and an increase of 4.46% compared to the month of July.

United States-based Caribbean communicator Bevan Springer believes Caribbean marketers ought to share more stories of the Caribbean people, their talents and accomplishments when promoting the region in the marketplace.Speaking at the first Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF) in Puerto Rico on "Strategic Storytelling", Springer - president and chief executive of the Marketplace Excellence public relations practice - encouraged delegates to keep the creative talent that is abundant within the Caribbean at the forefront of promotional campaigns. 

Known as a green oasis in the northern tropics, Xishuangbanna is home to the largest and most well-preserved rainforest in the northern hemisphere and which, in legends, is said to be a paradise. Located in the north-west corner of Jinghong city in the Dai autonomous prefecture, the Wanda Xishuangbanna International Resort Complex covers a sprawling 5.3 square-kilometers, and can be reached inside a 15-minutes drive from Gasa International Airport.

A Caribbean tourism leader said the region has to keep refreshing its product to ensure its people can continue to benefit from the revenue generated by the industry. "Tourism is by far the biggest sector of our economies in the Caribbean and we ought to ensure our hotels and other visitor facilities continue to improve because our people rely on revenue from the sector for education, health, culture and environmental conservation,"

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism has launched Restaurant Week on the island of St. Croix from Wednesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 8, 2015. Dubbed "Dine VI," this culinary showcase is a 10-day celebration of the cuisine, culture and community of St. Croix, and will feature an array of events and dining experiences in addition to the traditional prix fixe menu offerings.

Award-winning safari specialist Real Africa has invited a number of sixth form students from the Norwich School to attend their 15th Anniversary event at the Royal Geographical Society in London next week. The students, who have all exhibited an interest in veterinary science, zoology, geography or wildlife and conservation attend a school within a stone's throw of Real Africa's offices in Norwich, Norfolk.

Ethiopia, which almost by stealth climbed to the top of the economic growth list in Africa, announced yesterday that is has added a new feather to its national hat when a brand new commuter rail network was launched in the capital of Addis Ababa. Nearly 50 towns in Ethiopia will be linked by rail, aimed to spur additional economic growth by supporting agriculture and mining, as well as tourism with safe transportation of goods and people.

Emirates, a global connector of people and places, celebrates its 10th year of operations to the Seychelles. During this time, the Dubai-based airline brought almost 1.5 million customers to the archipelago. Emirates started its operations to Seychelles with four weekly flights in 2005. Today, it operates a double-daily service.

The event which will feature a talk by well-known wildlife filmmaker, conservationist and star of BBC series 'This Wild Life', Saba Douglas-Hamilton is raising money for the conservation charity Save The Elephants. Real Africa will be promoting the work of the charity at a number of travel shows through the autumn and winter with additional donations made by the Real Africa Trust to Save The Elephants on behalf of their clients. 

To celebrate the relationship between the City of Westminster and Switzerland, the Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster, Councillor Christabel Flight visited Switzerland. Following an invitation by Switzerland Tourism the Lord Mayor with a delegation of seven travelled on the Grand Tour of Switzerland through various parts of the country.
