To celebrate an early Easter Sunday this year on March 31st, Barnsdale will be holding their super fun Kids’ Easter Hunt every day between the 29th of March and the 1st of April.

This free-with-admission event allows families to come together for a fun-filled weekend, hunting through the gardens to collect elusive Easter egg clues. Once the clues are all collected each child will receive a chocolatey Easter treat.

Escaping from the hustle and bustle of everyday life is a cinch when you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the gardens. Every season offers something new and exciting, but this month is especially magical with the stunning display of flowering cherries, flowering currants, heathers, Primula, Narcissi (seen in the image above), Chaenomeles, Pulmonaria, Leucojum & Muscari, and more.

The 'Japanese Garden' is a masterpiece of design, showcasing two distinct styles of Japanese gardens. The winding slate path connects both halves, and every element is carefully placed to create a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.

The Wildflower Border with its drifts of daffodils are also a wonderful sight at this time of year, as is both the Coir Rock Bed and Rock feature which have lots of spring flowering bulbs & plants, such as Anemone blanda, Scilla, Aubrieta, Arabis, Chionodoxa, Muscari, alpine Phlox, Iris reticulata, Erica carnea. The Winter Border is also filled with spring flowering plants, such as Daffodils, flowering cherry, Hellebores, Amelanchier, Magnolia 'Fairy White' & Viburnum tinus 'Lisarose', as well as foliage interest from Sanguisorba and Pinus mugo 'Carsten'.

The Woodland Walk has Pulmonaria, Leucojum, Vinca, Forsythia and Euphorbia all in flower. The experience at the 'Rose Garden' is one of sensory indulgence where underplanting provides year-round interest, and the covered seat offers a tranquil place to appreciate the intoxicating aroma and remarkable beauty of the two magnificent flowering cherry trees in full bloom and stunning bulb varieties.

Come and discover the beauty and tranquility of the gardens for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
