Staffordshire holiday company, Blue Bay Travel, has announced a partnership with Pebbles Legacy, a dog rescue and rehoming charity local to Blue Bay’s base of Trentham, Stoke on Trent.

Blue Bay’s dedicated group of Charity Champions, which features 11 colleagues from a cross-section of the business, researched a range of charities in the local area, and Pebbles was chosen for its proximity and because animal protection is a subject close to the hearts of the Blue Bay team.

The new partnership, which has been confirmed for two years, will see Blue Bay raise valuable funds for the charity through a variety of activities and events, but colleagues will also offer hands-on support by walking the dogs, helping at feeding time and cleaning the kennels.  In addition, Blue Bay Travel will support Pebbles by lending the charity its technology and marketing expertise.

To kick off the partnership with some four (and three!) legged fun, the volunteer team from Pebbles Legacy brought some of the dogs along to Blue Bay’s offices this month to meet the team. The dogs included two St. Bernards called Disney & Donkey, two three-legged dogs called Fern & Bell, and Vera the Chinese Crested Dog who was rescued from a kill shelter in Romania.

A variety of fundraising activities also took place, including a raffle to win an extra day of annual leave, a “guess the pet owner” quiz and a “Pebbles Pay Day Pub”, with drinks for purchase. Overall, the Blue Bay Travel team raised £302 for Pebbles in its first fundraising initiative.

Alistair Rowland, Chief Executive for Blue Bay Travel, which boasts a 4.9 Excellent rating on Trustpilot and recently achieved an industry-leading 4.8 employer review rating on Glassdoor, said: “The whole Blue Bay team is 100 per cent behind our new charity partnership, and we look forward to seeing a lot more of the Pebbles team and their furry friends. We’re excited about the host of fundraising activities and events we can plan over the coming years, as well as the hands-on support we can provide to Pebbles from cleaning the kennels and walking the dogs to extending professional advice and training to the Pebbles team on marketing and social media.

Mick Brace, co-founder of Pebbles Legacy, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen by Blue Bay Travel as its charity partner for the next two years. We spent a brilliant day at the Blue Bay offices, earlier this month, meeting all the staff and introducing them to some of our wonderful rescue dogs. We are hugely grateful, not only for the valuable fundraising their planned activities and events will bring, but for the expertise they are lending us on the technology and marketing front to help us better communicate what we do to support dogs in need and how the local community can support us.”
