Parents or guardians of pupils who are due to start secondary school for the first time in 2016 are reminded that they must apply for a place for their child by the end of this month. The window for applications closes on Saturday 31 October, 2015, and parents who have not yet done so should start thinking now about which secondary school they would prefer their child to attend.

A 24-year-old is one of three individuals selected from thousands across the world as part of a competition to send one undiscovered leader into space. Hussain Manawer from Ilford, Essex has been chosen as one of three finalists as part of the Rising Star Programme, launched at the One Young World Summit 2014 in Dublin, The initiative’s creator, London-based talent agency, Kruger Cowne, and their partners One Young World and Spaceship Earth Grants, have announced the finalists.

With exactly 100 days until the grand opening of Wolverhampton’s new Youth Zone, The Way, celebrating this milestone, 100 pupils from St Matthias School became the first young people to officially sign-up as members. The Way’s newly recruited volunteer and Invictus Games gold medal winner, Andy Roberts from Wolverhampton joined 100 young people, to help raise awareness for the opening of the Youth Zone – a fitting way to mark the 100 day countdown.

94% of Walsall College students who completed Level 3 courses at the Ofsted outstanding college in 2014, have successfully progressed into employment or higher education. Now the college is inviting prospective students to come and find out how they can start their own successful careers though its range of vocational courses at its latest Open Day, on Saturday 17th October 2015, from 10am – 2pm.

Grand Designs Live, sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, today celebrated it's 10th birthday at the NEC in Birmingham with design guru and presenter Kevin McCloud entering the exhibition in the world's first origami inspired car. The car, made by Lexus, is a life-size replica of the new IS saloon, created from 1,700 fully recyclable laser-cut cardboard sheets.
