London Euston’s garden has been revamped in time for World Environment Day, as staff came together to prepare the station’s Railway 200 garden for passengers and the local community to enjoy over the summer.
As part of National Volunteers' Week, Network Rail and its rail industry partners refreshed part of the Euston Square Gardens, with dozens of staff clearing weeds and planting shade-loving plants to create a calmer green space alongside one of London’s busiest stations. Network Rail’s station cleaning partner Mitie supported the tidy-up, while HS2 and its contractor Mace Dragados Joint Venture funded the new planting, with teams from across Euston and the wider railway taking part ahead of World Environment Day (Friday 5 June).
Kathrin Pranga-Wells, station customer experience manager for Network Rail, said: “This World Environment Day, we’re proud to work with our Team Euston partners to keep our Railway 200 garden looking its best, and I’d like to thank everyone who has taken part.
“Planting new flowers and greenery is helping to brighten the station environment, support biodiversity and create a more welcoming space for the millions of people who pass through Euston.” Samuel Omojola, Euston facilities manager for transport, cleaning & hygiene services at Mitie, said: "Mitie were pleased to support the Team Euston initiative to refresh the Railway 200 garden.
“Our team worked alongside partners to help improve the space and create a more pleasant environment for passengers and the local community to enjoy over the summer." Euston's improved Railway 200 garden is located next to the station's east taxi rank, alongside Eversholt Street and Euston Road.

As part of the 2025 celebrations, Euston station designated part of the Euston Square Gardens as a special Railway 200 garden for passengers, local people and staff to enjoy.
