Worcester Cathedral is preparing to welcome the local community to celebrate a packed programme of services, concerts, and events this Christmastime.
Christmas Tree Festival
The glittering Christmas Tree Festival will run from Wednesday 7 December 2022 to Sunday 8 January 2023.
No tickets are required this year, and all are warmly welcome to go and view the glittering avenue of innovatively designed trees lining the medieval cloister. They will be available to view during normal opening times, every day except Christmas Day.
Services
This Christmas is the chance experience the beauty of a carol service at the Cathedral, with traditional readings, anthems sung by one of the Cathedral’s choirs, and favourite carols accompanied by the magnificent organ. Or you can see one of the crib services on Christmas Eve to see the Christmas story re-enacted – with real animals!

Tidings of Joy – Cathedral Christmas Concert
Saturday 17 December, 7.30pm
Join us for an enchanting evening of Christmas music performed by the choirs of Worcester Cathedral. Our ever-popular Christmas concert has become a traditional part of Christmas for many families. We hope you’ll join us for a feast of festive music, performed with a seasonal dose of Christmas cheer!
What the Dickens?
Join them on 17, 19, 20, 21 and 22 December, and learn all about what the Victorians did for us. Explore an exhibition of inventions and take part in children’s activities to win a prize. Try your hand at morse code, watch a model steam train fly past or create a Christmas card. Tickets, priced at £2 per person, are available to purchase on the day - no need to pre-book! Activities take place in the Cathedral's Undercroft Learning Centre from 10am – 4pm each day.

Christmas Day: CLOSED for visiting
The Cathedral will be open for visiting, except Christmas Day, throughout the festive period.
Due to a high volume of services taking place, there may be some slight changes to visiting hours at times. Please check our Planned Closures page before visiting.
