The growth in popularity of food, and its compelling media presence, has given rise to a new breed of cook who can delight with both their food and their ability to engage with a food loving audience.

Leiths School of Food and Wine, in west London, is known for its world class diploma and notable alumni such as TV chefs Gizzi Erskine, Matt Tebbutt and Lorraine Pascale.

Now, in the first course of its kind in the UK, the school is offering chefs the chance to share their expertise with the wider world by providing training in cooking for TV and live audiences. How to be a Food Presenter is taught by the Leiths chefs and experts from Chefs Training, a television training company with vast experience in media and food.

With sessions on autocue, talkback, live cookery demonstrations, script writing and on location filming, students will leave with the confidence to cook in a variety of different settings.

“There's an increasing demand for chefs who can cook for and engage with an audience,” says Camilla Schneideman, managing director of Leiths.

“Whether you want to demonstrate at food festivals, teach cookery classes, create your own YouTube channel or present a food show on TV; this course has been designed to equip you with the skills to succeed.”
