Birmingham-born piano virtuoso Reuben James releases his first ever collection of solo recordings with Piano Love 1, a 5-track EP featuring a selection of music recorded at his home studio in south-east London.

Based around the themes and emotional impact of love, James invites us into his home to sit around his piano for the most intimate of recitals.

He evokes the beauty of Bob Dylan’s lyrics with his take on ‘Make You Feel My Love’, journeys through a delicate rendition of jazz standard ‘I’m Through With Love’ and performs three absorbing original compositions – ‘Love at Christmas Time’, ‘A Mother’s Love’ and ‘Love from the Other Side’.

“I wanted to release a solo piano album as my fan base, and anyone who has ever seen me live, know that piano is my first love”, he said. “It’s been a record I’ve always wanted to make since I first started playing and I finally had the time and opportunity to sit down at my piano in my home and record love songs.

“I did three originals and two covers with each song dedicated to different types of love. They’re all ballads and all evoke different emotions in my heart! This album is a gift to my fans and anyone who loves the piano.”

With an array of collaborations with the likes of Stormzy, Sam Smith, Disclosure and Marcus Mumford under his belt, James is not only one of the most in demand and prolific writers of his generation but is now carving a reputation as a leading artist in his own right. Over the course of a relatively short career to date, 29-year-old James has become known as one of the most exciting young artists on the scene; a compelling songwriter and assured vocalist with an undeniable mastery of the piano. James recently released the Tunnel Vision mixtape, which was the follow up to 2020’s Slow Down.
